Nothing says, "I love you,"
like a yummy plate of these cookies!
Sugar Cookies
1 ½ cups sugar
1 cup real butter
1 egg
1 teaspoon soda
½ teaspoon salt
1 cup sour cream
1 teaspoon vanilla
4 ½ to 5 cups flour
Mix sugar, butter, egg until creamy. Add soda, salt, sour cream and vanilla. Add flour until sides of bowl are clean and mix well. Divide dough in half and roll out between two sheets of waxed paper until ¼ inch thick. Refrigerate dough. Cut out with favorite cookie cutter and place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 425 degrees F for 5-7 minutes. Store in airtight container and frost with favorite frosting.
Sugar Cookie Glaze
1 cup powdered sugar
1-2 Tablespoons milk
½ tsp. vanilla
¼ tsp. cream of tartar
Food coloring
Mix well and drizzle/spread on cookie.
